'My Postcode Is Not A Virus'
'My Postcode is Not A Virus' explores the 'scourge' and spread of the Aucklander.
As a born and bred West Aucklander, it has always amused me how Aucklanders are treated and perceived. From living in London to moving to Mangawhai, there is a backlash towards Aucklanders, a fear that we may spread and envelope New Zealand like a disease. Enter Covid 19 and the NZ housing crisis. A migration of Aucklanders are now spreading across the country looking for cheaper housing and better lifestyles. Why are people so afraid?.
Kaipara Art Awards
I recently entered the 2021 Kaipara Art Awards and was awarded third place in the 2D multi medium category with my abstract artwork 'Timelines'. I created this contemporary artwork using strips of texture and colour depicting certain times in my life that crossed over. The circular nature of my work is a relatively new exploration and I am enjoying the design element of circular composition incorporating art with meaning. I have enjoyed the process of entering the Kaipara Art Awards and being involved with Mangawhai Artists (MAI)
